The nearby Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival is the most talked about wooden boat festival in the world, "the woodstock of wooden boats". A beautiful location, 200 boats and hundreds of experts make this a one of a kind event in a one of a kind town. West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium - September 19-21, 2008 -- is a weekend-long festival with activities and events for paddlers of all ages and paddling abilities. The Symposium is located at beautiful Fort Worden State Park Conference Center in Port Townsend, Washington. Our themes this year are women in paddling, and families.
There are on-land and on-water workshops offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday to help you hone your paddling strokes, pack your boat, practice rescue techniques and many other helpful tips.
The industry leading manufacturers, retailers and outfitters will also have booths set up for you to check out the latest gear. There is over 1400 ft of waterfront packed with kayaks and accessories, an extensive retail area where you can pick up some new equipment and events for the whole family all day and into the evening.

The Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival is the annual celebration of the region's diverse bounty - the seafood, the maritime and cultural traditions and the breathtaking coastal environment. The festival's featured crustacean, the Dungeness Crab, was named after the village of Dungeness (near Sequim and Port Angeles), Washington. The Festival is located at the Port Angeles City Pier and the Red Lion Hotel overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, with Victoria, B.C. just a ferry ride away.
