Description

Blue Sky Cabin is located at the end of a private airstrip community in beautiful Sequim valley. Neighbored by a wetland preserve bird habitat, this beautiful 5 acre mountain view cabin is surrounded by meadows.  It is close to the Olympic Game Farm, and only 7 minutes from main street Sequim. There are less than 10 homes in this airstrip community where garages also serve as hangars for private planes.  Guests can drive in or fly in their private plane.  If you are planning to fly in, please contact our office for the private airstrip landing information.

The cabin, and adjacent airplane hangar, were built by the owner and it is truly a hand crafted home filled with special finds from the owner's antiquing trips. The bedroom upstairs, with a full bed, has an adjacent loft area with a futon couch that folds out into a full bed. The loft is also a nice place to work or catch up on email.  The home offers high speed internet and WiFi.  The upstairs 3/4 bathroom has a shower to freshen up after a day of exploring the area. Downstairs is a great room with a memory foam mattress in the hide-a-bed couch. The cabin could sleep 6 but we feel 5 is a more comfortable number for space. There is an efficient kitchen with full-size electric stove/oven, microwave oven, and quarter-sized refrigerator with small freezer space. There is also a half bathroom downstairs.  The cleaning closet also serves as laundry facilities with a stack washer and dryer. The home is equipped with a smart TV and Dish TV service.  There is a DVD player for your favorite movies. A propane fireplace, set in the handset river rock surround, warms cool evenings.  There are games for guests to play, too.

Outside, there is space to run around or throw a ball for your pup. Swing on the front porch swing and watch the birds flying by, or the occasional neighbor taking off for flight on a beautiful day.  Enjoy an evening drink while staying warm next to the outdoor propane heater on the wrap around deck, or relax in the hot tub under the stars.  Just across the gates of the community is the Dungeness River.  The river offers a terrific walk with park areas to rest and enjoy the tranquility.  You are minutes from the Olympic Game Farm.  The Dungeness Wildlife Refuge and entrance to the Dungeness Spit is only 10 minutes away. This is a very charming home to truly get away for quiet and relaxation.

This is a fabulous little cabin on a private airstrip that was such a cool place to stay. Upon arrival to the property I had to wait at the end of the driveway/landing strip for an incoming airplane. It was very cool.

Fell in love with the property! Perfect size for our family of 4. Wonderful private views including mountains, very quite and peaceful. Great location to come back to after exploring what the area had to offer and relaxing in the hot tub.

Lovely setting. Enjoyed the hottub while watching the stars and a barn hour. Beds could use improvement. After 4 nights had a backache from the not supportive bed.

This lovely cabin is located in a unique gated community with its own runway. It was private with beautiful views of meadows and mountains. The location was very convenient to the town of Sequim as well as to other sights such as the Dungeness National Wildlife Sanctuary and the Olympic mountains. The cabin itself was cosy and warm with all of the amenities one needs, including a washer and dryer. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an enjoyable time. My grandkids loved the cabin and explored every nook and cranny as soon as we arrived. My son and daughter- in- law did most of the cooking. The kitchen was well supplied. Their only complaint was they couldn't find a cutting board.

Very cute little cabin - nice base from which to complete our day-tripping around the Northern Peninsula. Have a 7 year old and a 4 year old and they really liked the cabin.

I some how did not have information emailed to me on how to enter the property but within minutes of me emailing a request it was answered quickly and we had no problems entering the house.

We simply explored the Olympic Peninsula from this cabin. From feeding buffaloes at the Olympic Game Farm, hiking in Olympic National Park (Ruby Beach, Hoh Rainforest, Sol Duc Falls and the Hurricane Ridge), walking the Dungeness Spit out to the lighthouse, visiting Victoria, Canada on Canada Day and visiting the Purple Haze Lavender Farm, as you can see we wasted no time getting out and about. Returning to the cabin and talking about the day by the fire pit with smores was a hit with the kids. We also enjoyed eating dinner on the side deck table outside while listening to the varied sounds coming from the Olympic Game Farm near by. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you from the Holbrook family.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at blue sky cabin in mid-June. the cabin is very cute, just as pictured. the setting was very peaceful, picturesque, and unique. we were able to watch a few of the neighbors taking off and returning in their planes - very neat, for our young son, especially. this is a great jumping off point for exploring the Olympic peninsula. one warning for seasonal allergy sufferers - bring your allergy meds of choice! something in all the grass and trees around the property drove our allergies crazy!

This was a really cool place to stay. The house was a really beautiful cabin. The views from the house were also amazing (when the clouds clear up). We got to see bald eagles while just sitting on the front porch. We also enjoyed watching the few planes take off and leave from right in front of us. The neighborhood was really quiet. Overall a unique place to stay.

The place is in a really unique location making it feeling very special. The Cabin itself is hand made and very well appointed. Little "quirks" are part of the charm. The kitchen is well stocked and good size, lots of patio space and super quiet. The perfect place for watching sunsets. The only thing to be aware of is the size of the two double futons which IMHO get tight for two adults.

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Blue Sky Cabin. Such a cozy, beautiful and quiet property! In fact, we only had one plane take off the morning that we were departing. My husband is an aviation buff, so he was actually disappointed we weren't outside to see it. As for the property itself, we didn't see a single soul in the 2 days we were there. It was perfectly peaceful. We did a lot of cooking during our stay and found the kitchen really well stocked with the tools we needed. The fridge had enough room for ingredients and a small freezer for ice cream. There's also a small fridge in the laundry room if you have a bigger party. We did bring along a sharp knife, wine opener, our own coffee, seasonings and large pot to boil crabs in. The heat and water pressure were great, the fireplace also added a nice cozy element. We went through the DVDs and watched a movie as well. Otherwise, there is plenty of seating on the porch to watch the sunset or read a book. Overall really enjoyed out stay!

Review #14550405 Custom-built Log Home on 5 Acres Adjacent to a Wild Bird Preserve Hideaway ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Happy to be visiting this little cabin for a second time!! My kids love it and begged to come back. Their favorite part is the rustic slab staircase and the futon in the loft area. I love the cozy cabin feel! It feels secluded but you're 10 minutes or less from everything. Date of arrival 22 April 2016
